3 dangerous crosswalks in a row
From "Street Safety Concerns"
Go to the project
3 dangerous cross walks in a row: 2nd and West End Ave, and then 2 at Edgewood and West End Ave. Cars won't stop at any of them. Cars tend to speed here to catch the light at Columbia. This forces the pedestrian to walk all the way to Columbia to find a decent crosswalk (or all the way back to 4th Street). It's a long stretch without a safe way to cross, so most people just dart across whenever they get a perceived break in traffic, which isn't safe either. I see a lot of moms with strollers waiting a very long time to cross. Cars do not stop.
