A skatepark

From "Reservoir Park Master Plan"

Go to the project

Help the ADHD kids and give them something amazing. Give the community a place to go other than doom scrolling. The benefits of skateboarding are enless and it's not as dangerous as people think. As the sport has grown many of the problems skaters caused in the 90s have disappeared because older members of the skate community have stepped up and taught the younger ones to be respectful. Skateboarding has also become an incredible family sport. I myself skate every weekend with my 11 and 13 year old sons.

Arment concrete has been building affordable parks for may local cities. There is also Fifth Pocket out of Philly, or if you want to spend all the money go with evergreen skateparks.

If it doesn't work to build a full park it is easy to build a skate spot, incorporating skate obstacles into the architectural design or something simple like a bowl and a ledge would be fun.
