GOAL
The police are proactive and engaged in building relationships with the community that create unity and safety in our neighborhoods.
How we will achieve this goal:
Develop a community engagement plan for the police bureau and CPWG that incorporates education on laws, policies, and processes.
Ensure the CPWG supports the police engagement team.
Determine a method to track and report progress within the community engagement plan.

La policía es proactiva y participa en la construcción de relaciones con la comunidad que crean unidad y seguridad en nuestros vecindarios.
ESTRATEGIAS
1. Desarrollar un plan de participación comunitaria para la oficina de policía y el CPWG que incorpore educación sobre leyes, políticas y procesos.
2. Asegúrese de que el CPWG apoye al equipo de participación policial.

When officers are driving around their sectors, waving “Hi” to the residents would be a small act that requires little effort. Could make a good impact on the residents, instead of just feeling watched by them.

I like the idea of a police engagement team. Partnering with local universities (Millersville, F&M, Thaddeus Stevens, Lancaster Bible College, Elizabethtown College) and incorporating faculty and students there that may have interests in criminal justice, social work, psychology, etc. to either participate on the team or assist in meeting the mission would be beneficial and help with community/stakeholder buy-in. The schools may also serve as a place to host educational sessions.
