We would like to see a pump track and a small concrete skate park at Reservoir Park. The city has plenty of playgrounds and jungle gyms, but there’s very little for older kids and teens. Giving them something to do keeps them active and out of trouble, and right now thats an area the city is really lacking.
The nearest skate park is in County Park, and that doesn’t work for a lot of city residents. If you’re a pedestrian, it’s not realistically reachable on foot. You basically have to drive there, which cuts out the kids who’d use it most. On top of that, the skate park was poorly designed and is close to unusable as it is.
A pump track and a modest concrete skate park at Reservoir Park would fill a real gap and give city kids a place that’s actually accessible.
