The bike lane turns into sharrows as it approaches the intersection. Do you mean cars enter the bike lane further up the block?

@Ethan Farrell I haven't been there in a few months, so I'll assume you're correct. Whether there is a marked bike lane or not, motorists still must turn from as near the right edge as practicable. But they should not enter the bike lane farther back in the block if they are turning right from College onto Columbia.

The bike lane should have a dashed line, and NO GREEN PAINT, to ENCOURAGE motorists to turn right from that position instead of from farther left which puts cyclists in the bike lane at risk of right hooks. According to the law, right turns must be made from as near the right edge of the roadway as practicable. Bike lanes that are striped solid up to the intersection, as those in the city are, discourages proper positioning for right turns by motorists. Another reason for cyclists not to completely trust bike lane stripes for their safety.
