Concrete Skate Park

Lancaster needs a skate park.

Everyone talks about how our kids are stuck on screens — but look at our parks, and you'll see acres of tennis and pickleball courts sitting mostly empty, each one serving two to four people at a time. That's a lot of prime real estate for very little return.

A skate park is different. It's one of the last places left where kids can gather, push themselves physically, and take real risks in a safe, self-organized environment — without an adult standing over them at every turn. That kind of independence is exactly what's disappearing from childhood, and exactly what a skate park gives back.

It's also good for the local economy. A well-designed skate park doesn't just serve Lancaster's kids — it pulls in skaters from surrounding communities, and visiting families spend money at nearby restaurants, coffee shops, and stores while they're here.

Lancaster has invested in courts that serve a handful of people at a time. It's time to invest in something that gets kids off their screens, builds real community, and brings visitors — and their dollars — into town.
