Dangerous Intersection: Crash-prone
From "Street Safety Concerns"
Go to the project
North Duke at Ross Street has seen at least 4-5 crashes in the last 6 months. Traffic calming is essential for N. Duke Street drivers who do not respect the posted 25 MPH limit as they enter the city. Just last week a FIRE TRUCK hit a sedan at this intersection. A stop sign or a speed bump for slowing the two lanes of traffic would do a lot of good on N. Duke street, as a starting point.

Very difficult intersection to cross as a pedestrian as vehicles do not obey 25mph speed limit when entering the city. Some sort of sign indicating that cars must stop for pedestrians in cross walk in addition to other traffic calming measures would be greatly appreciated.

I would recommend some rumble strips on the bridge (like ones you find on ramps) and then a speed bump roughly two - three car lengths before East Ross St. and maybe another speed bump just after the corner convenience store exit.
