Dangerous Two-Way Traffic
From "Street Safety Concerns"
Go to the project
The 100 and 200 blocks of N Plum Street are becoming increasingly unsafe for pedestrians. Traffic barrels around both Walnut and Chestnut Streets at dizzying speeds making crossings around even Fulton Street feel unsafe. We've seen multiple accidents at both intersections and when the Catherine Hershey School is in session children will be at greater risk. For the sake of McCaskey students, incoming Catherine Hershey Families, and the increasing foot traffic on the East End, please include traffic safety measures such as rain gardens, bike lanes, hazard poles, etc. to slow down people speeding around the corners from routes 30 getting onto 23. Plum street is plenty wide.

That area might need more raised speed humps/crosswalks, etc to slow people down. It has become a disaster for pedestrians.
