Fast cars on N Shippen 600 block

From "Street Safety Concerns"

Go to the project

I live on the 600 block of N Shippen and there seems to be a LOT of traffic going between Park Ave and streets far to the N of 700 block, often all the way to E Liberty.

Twice I have nearly been in a serious accident because someone blew through the stop sign at E Frederick and N Shippen. I now treat that intersection pretty much as a 4-way stop. Visibility always sucks. You should just put up a stop sign on N Shippen and make it 4-way stop like all the intersections on N Shippen between Park Ave and E Liberty.

Finally, can we get some speed bumps in residential neighborhoods?

Also, parking permits are the stupidest, least logical lack of a system I have ever seen, and I have lived in a dozen cities in the USA and abroad.

I'm surprised there is no stop sign there! Especially since the intersections both N and S of it have one. You might be able to submit that as a request to the traffic commission, I see those types of requests come in on the agenda/minutes from time to time. I'd love a more liberal use of speed bumps and traffic calming around the city. The whole city is residential, so slower speeds just make more sense. And you know speed limit reductions alone won't change the behavior of 3/4 of drivers.
