As someone who lives right here, the parking has been better with the diagonal spaces. Still, parking is tough anyway and we need a long-term solution (maybe using some of the lot space at the school for people who live nearby??)
The angled parking is fine but why take others spaces away around vine street?

Spots were removed along the hill if anything it’s gotten worse
We were told parking spaces wouldn't be affected yet numerous spots were removed. Why the conflicting info?

@diane baker Diane. The loss of parking spaces was expected, but with the addition of angled parking, there was a net gain of three spaces around the immediate intersection.

The angled parking on Mulberry is great. But there is no reason to eliminate the parking spaces on the right/downhill side of Vine and the corner of W. Strawberry (as attempted by the no parking signs). People have been parking there for years with no problem and every spot is valuable here.

@Robin Ehst Are you talking about the widened area of West Vine across from the former Strawberry Hill restaurant? If so, parking has NEVER been permitted on that side of the street.

@Dean Evans no. Imagine you are at the end of the 400 block of Vine and you take a right on Strawberry-- the parking spaces that are on the right side of Strawberry going down the hill. They put up no parking signs there where there were none before, and parking authority is ticketing people all the time now. It's especially important to have that extra spot or two on Thursday street cleaning days because Strawberry is a Wednesday st.

@Robin Ehst I’ll take a look at it tomorrow. It is illegal to park within a certain distance to a corner of an intersection and there are parking limitations on both sides of a crosswalk. I’ll take measurements and see if that’s the reason for the no parking signs.

@Dean Evans Yes, I'm aware of the crosswalk rules, which are by no means actually/consistently enforced city wide or the loss of parking would be devastating. The reason for the no parking on that section only now is the paint. Immediately on the other side of the crosswalk people are parking with no resulting tickets.
