Church Street Complete Street Project

The City of Lancaster is working to make Church Street a safer, more pedestrian-friendly corridor.

Data shows that things like slower speed limits, fewer lanes of motor vehicle traffic, more visible crosswalks, lighting, landscaping, better sidewalks, and bicycle infrastructure can all help reduce crashes and injuries.

The input and ideas you provide will help make the Church Street corridor a place where people of all ages and abilities can safely walk, ride, drive, bike, and get together.

Concept Plan Development

November 17, 2022 - February 17, 2023

We'll work to conduct an existing conditions assessment of the Church Street corridor that will focus on the following:

  • Adopted plans, including the county-wide Active Transportation Plan and the Vision Zero Action Plan
  • Intersections
  • Traffic control devices including signals and stop signs
  • Motor vehicle traffic volume and circulation
  • Pedestrian access issues
  • Bike circulation issues
  • Street lighting
  • Landscaping
  • Drainage

We'll also take the feedback we heard in phase 1 and work to incorporate it into the concept plan.
