Home Rule Information Sessions
The Home Rule Study Commission has developed a proposed Home Rule Charter for the City of Lancaster. The Commission is seeking feedback on the draft charter from city residents.
Here's how you can share your input:
- Attend one of three information sessions on 7/29 (City Hall, 6 pm), 7/31 (Virtual, 6:30 pm), 8/6 (City Hall, 6 pm).
- Attend a regularly scheduled Home Rule Study Commission meeting, see the calendar online at cityoflancasterpa.gov.
- Submit your feedback on the charter online using the form linked below.

Phases
Home Rule on the Ballot!
On November 5th Lancaster City voters will decide whether to adopt a Home Rule Charter for the City of Lancaster. The Sorace Administration is recommending Home Rule as a solution to help build a stronger, more equitable Lancaster. By adopting Home Rule, Lancaster could have more tools to control expenses and provide for other ways to raise revenues besides property taxes.
